Made in Iran develops from the interviews at the center of Looking Glass. I translate facial-expression data from conversations with twelve participants into digital forms and printed objects. The process moves between recorded speech, the moving face, software, and a physical model, giving different material expressions to an encounter.

The project asks what happens to identity when a person’s expression is measured and translated. The resulting form carries both a human expression and the decisions encoded in the software. By following the passage from interview to object, I examine how cultural identity is represented through processes of recording, translation, and making.

Interview video and physical forms trace a passage from facial expression to digital model and printed object.
